In consultation with our Parent Forum Group back in 2016, it was agreed that we would raise funds for Hairmyres Hospital, in particular, the Childrens A&E department to upgrade their waiting area which was pretty basic and non descript.
As one of our parents worked in the department this allowed us to have in depth consultation on what we could do and later after much
research, the target of £3000 was made so that this would enable the hospital to contract in a company to design wall art which would possibly involved interactive designs.
In December 2018, we reached our target through many events and without the support of our families and local people we would never have managed to do this. We are extremely grateful to all who supported us along the way.
Strathaven Round Table donated £600 to our target which was fabulous and helped at great deal.
The children visited the hospital in January 2019 where the cheque was presented and then they were taken around the hospital meeting many of the staff and departments.

We are hoping to have a presentation with some of our children around summer 2024 to visit the hospital and see what improvements have been made as a result of our fundraising.
