Louise
Nursery Manager
FIRST AIDER
I started working in Sweetie Brae in September 2023 and loved the ethos of the nursery and how much it felt so much like a home from home.
I have 24 years childcare experience and 4 years of this at managerial level. I am currently studying my BA Childhood Practice degree at the University of West Scotland one night a week to further my knowledge.
I have also undertaken further training in lead child protection training, Level 2 understanding autism and level 2 safe handling of medication which gives me the knowledge and understanding required in my role.
In my spare time, I like spending it with my family, especially my 2 nephews, walking the dog and socialising with friends.
FIRST AIDER
I started Sweetie Brae in 2014 and I have my HNC in childcare.
I originally covered lunches as I worked in the local after school club then moved on to becoming full time from October 2021 in Sweetie Brae.
I am now employed on a full time basis as Senior room leader.
Out with work, I like to spend time with my family and relaxing.
FIRST AIDER
I first came to Sweetie Brae when I was a student studying my National 5 at South Lanarkshire college and absolutely loved working here with such a brilliant team.
I then was given the opportunity in 2019 to join the team while I was studying and have now qualified as an early years practitioner. I work 3 days a week.
When I’m not working I love spending time with my little boy Tommy and all my family.
FIRST AIDER
I started Sweetie Brae generally covering lunches throughout the rooms as I used to work at the after school club.
Since Covid restrictions, I have been able to continue to gain experience in the unders 3's and you will find me full time within the baby room.
I have also since qualified as an Early years practitioner.
Emma

FIRST AIDER
I started working in Sweetie Brae from November 2022 as I love to see the development in children and supporting them in their learning. I am now qualified in early years and love my job where you will find me with the babies.
April
Early years Practitioner
FIRST AIDER
My name is April.
I started working within Sweetie Brae Nursery in the under 3’s at the start of 2024.
I have a HNC in Childhood Practise and am a qualified practitioner. I am now working towards my honours degree in Childhood Studies and in year 3. My favourite part about working in the nursery is the joy of watching children learn and grow. Seeing their little minds light up as they discover new things. It's those precious interactions and the genuine connections I can make with the children that make my job so special.
Jodi
Support Worker
FIRST AIDER
I joined Sweetie Brae in March 2021 as a support to the staff to carry out all the morning domestic duties within the nursery.
This was a good start for me as I wish to have a childcare career in the future and having a position in the nursery let's me get a feel for the work involved.
I am now covering in the playrooms and hope to complete my qualification in 2024.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my son, Riley and the rest of my family.

FIRST AIDER
Started in March 21, I carried out domestic duties and wished to be able to work in childcare as a practitioner. I was given the chance to work on my qualification during my time in Sweetie Brae and in 2024 I hope to be fully qualified.
I love my time now as a support worker, being with the children and encouraging them to succeed.
Alison
Early Years Practitioner
Hi, I’m Alison. I began my childcare journey in 2008, and after having my two sons, I earned my HNC in Childhood Practice in 2023.
In 2024, I joined the wonderful team at Sweetie Brae, and I’ve enjoyed every moment since. Currently, I’m working as bank staff while expecting my third baby, so you’ll see me in different rooms throughout the nursery. The highlight for me is building relationships with all the children.
Amy
Early Years Practitioner
Hello! My name is Amy and I am new to the Sweetie Brae team. I have a range of qualifications and experience that I have gained over the last 8 years such as NC in Early Education and Childcare, HNC Childhood Practice, and my HND Childhood Practice.
Now for a little bit about me. I am 25 years old and a mum of two boys (Noah 4, and Grayson who will be 1) and two fur babies (my kittens Ginger and Nutty). I love everything messy and really encourage this within my practice to show children that the best way to learn is using our 5 senses.
Due to having my little boy in November 2023, I am currently only bank staff so you can find me either having a cuddle with the babies or getting crazy with the 3-5's!
